Send visitors directly to a specific “block” on any page of your site by using anchor points. This will scroll visitors down to any part of your page you want with just a link click.

This is a great way to organize your “Issues” page, to create a single page of issues and then send people to specific sections of that page depending on the button they click.

Creating an Anchor Point

Setting this up is easy. To begin you need to create an anchor point in the block you want to link to. To do this, go to the section of the website you’d like to connect to and click the “Block” at the top left of that block. That will bring up your container settings.

1.) At the bottom click “Add Anchor Point”, that will then bring up the second box below.

2.) Type in what you would like your anchor point to be on that section.

Now click save, you now have an anchor point ready to link to.

Creating a Link to that Anchor Point

Go to the button or link you’d like your visitor to click to go that point on the page. Click the button and click the “Edit Link” icon.

1.) Click the “Anchor Point” on the left hand side of the screen

2.) Click the dropdown and select the page your anchor point is on

3.) Click the dropdown and select the anchor point on the page you want it to link to

Now click save and you will have an anchor point on your page that will automatically send visitors to that section.

If you would like to link outside of PoliEngine to that section, the anchor point will work using a # and the anchor point after the url. For instance, "poliengine.com/home#anchor1" would be the equivalent link in this scenario.
